New chambers for Black Country business group
The Black Country Chamber of Commerce has moved into new business premises situated at the Creative Industries Centre, University of Wolverhampton Science Park.
The Chamber has joined a hub of approximately 90 companies from a variety of business sectors.
Margaret Corneby, Chief Executive of the Black Country Chamber of Commerce, commented: "The Chamber is in the middle of a large number of innovative and creative businesses, exactly the right place for us to be able to listen to their needs and inspire them to grow.
"We are strengthening our outreach and support capability and will be driving a new vision for the Black Country through our Consultative Forum.
"There is no reason why the Black Country can't take premier position on the global stage in the provision of mid-tier manufacturing services with specialisms in design and testing.
"Our vision for the Black Country will include all sectors and help us realise this premier position: after all we have been supporting businesses across the Black Country for more than 150 years."
The Black Country Chamber of Commerce is committed to its aim of doubling the size of the Black Country economy by 2023 through its own high growth programme, a revolution in skills development and enhancement of the local transport infrastructure.
The Black Country is the Industrial Heart of the UK with twice the national density of manufacturers. Removing barriers to growth for local businesses is essential to ensure the economic development of the region.
