Robbie wasn't horsing around, he really was stuck in the mud.
Fire crews helped to rescue a horse that was stuck fast in mud for more than two hours.
The animal was crossing a brook at Cannock Road, Westcroft, Wolverhampton, when its feet sank into the mud, making it impossible to continue.
More than a dozen firefighters, including crews from Fallings Park, Penkridge and a specialist animal rescue team from Cannock, worked to free the stranded horse following a 999 call from the owner just after 11am this morning.
Straps were used to pull the animal, which was lying on its side, on to its feet and out of the water. A vet also attended the scene to give advice.
The horse, called Robbie, was covered from head to tail in mud, turning its coat brown. However a Staffordshire Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said he was uninjured following his ordeal.
