More than 100 people queued outside the Civic Hall from 6am to get tickets to see the ska legends.
One of the oldest members in line for tickets was Sheila Boyce, aged 76. The pensioner awoke early to buy tickets for her son David, 45, who is away in Lanzarote. Sheila is no stranger to waiting in line for tickets in the early hours as she also queued for Blur tickets. The reformed Britpop band play the Civic later this month.
The Specials will play the Civic Hall on November 9 and 10. Tickets for the first date went on sale at 9am and were sold out 10 minutes later.nextpage An online pre-sale also took place on Wednesday morning for fan club members and those on the Civic Hall mailing list.nextpage
