Wolves: Jones' career in pictures
As Wolves unveil their third signing of the summer in Derby County midfielder David Jones, we look at the career so far of the new man at Molineux.
Coming through the youth ranks at Manchester United, young Jones went on to make a number of first-team appearances for the Reds, his only goal coming in a pre-season friendly against Sevilla at Old Trafford in August 2006.nextpage
His full debut was one to forget, as United were held to a shock goalless draw by Exeter in the FA Cup.nextpage
After first-team chances dried up to the point that he was best known for skippering the reserve side at Old Trafford, Jones headed out on loan to Preston, where he first met manager Billy Davies.nextpage
After a spell in Holland with Eredivisie outfit NEC Nijmegen, Jones joined Derby on loan with a view to a £1million move, reuniting him with former Preston boss Davies, now the man in charge at Pride Park.nextpage
Jones was a hit and made the move permanent when Derby were promoted, only for Davies to be sacked in November 2007 after the Rams start badly after promotion to the Premier League.nextpage
Jones found first-team appearances fleeting under new boss Paul Jewell and, although he did play against United at Pride Park, the writing was on the wall that he would leave in the summer.nextpage
Jones has now joined Wolves in a £1million deal, signing a three-year deal at Molineux.
