Samantha Butler told judges at the event that her ideal dinner party guest would be none other than the current monarch.

The 17-year-old saw off competition from eight other girls to secure the title on Saturday night at Brook Street Community Centre.

The contest was extended to the entire Black Country after a shortage of entrants from the town, making the dance student, from just outside Tipton, in Charlotte Road, Wednesbury, eligible.

Runner-up on the night was travel agent Danielle Garratt, aged 18, from Grace Road, Tipton.

Natalie Slaney won the carnival princess title, with fellow 14-year-old Aimee Brigdale runner-up.nextpage
