Who's who at Tettenhall's Make It or Bake It Market
It's time to announce who's coming to the next Make It or Bake It market on Sunday, May 24, from 10am.
The full range of traders is right here and, as the saying goes, 'in no particular order' we will have:
Hail to the Ale – the Claregate micro brewery and award winning mini pub will bring their mobile unit with real ale and cider on tap.
Victoria Creperie – back by popular demand with their delicious sweet and savoury crepes and pancakes.
The Glass Shed – Paul Barlow's eye-catching kiln-formed clocks and other glass household products and gifts.
Belles of the Three Spires - The Belles are a 30-strong all female barbershop team who will be performing at least twice on the day. They will also be raising money for charity with a stall selling home made crafts, chutneys, jams, plants, cards, cakes, biscuits, and knitted items. Come along to both hear, see, and support them!
Baked @ Tettenhall - The village's, indeed one of Wolverhampton's favourite bakers, will make their third appearance at the market. Our village bakers are working through the night (literally with a special night shift) to provide us with fresh artisan breads, cakes, savouries, and even cheeses. Talk about dedication to the cause!
Grange Kraft Kabin – Our most pet-friendly stallholders, with highly unusual dog leads, collars, and bracelets all made from sturdy parachute cord. They also sell beaded jewellery and trendy bandanas.
Robinson's Deli – This time around, the village's deli/butcher has created a mobile unit to provide their high-quality hot street food, this time with a French flavour, using locally sourced meat, of course. So, remember to come to market hungry!
Sally's Sweet Oasis – Lower Green's very own super sweet shop will be delighting the young 'uns (and some of us old 'uns no doubt) with sweets and fudge treats, both vintage – to bring back memories of lucky bags and gob stoppers – and modern.
Sarah Stokes, artist and face painter – Tettenhall artist, Sarah Stokes, is really making a name for herself with her original artwork, and she also plans to offer face painting on the day for our younger visitors. Our guess is she will be very busy!
Knit Stitch & Sparkle – Offering fine hand-made silver jewellery and accessories, in their second appearance at the Tettenhall market.
Whoopie Pie Factory – Donna from Codsall (who we first found at the excellent Shifnal Farmers Market) is a welcome newcomer with her special cakes, savoury whoopie pies, muffins, and quality quiches. No need to worry about tea on May 24!
Frank's Sauces – It's Frank's second stall at our market with his eye-watering range of genuinely delicious (not to mention a tad warm) Scotch bonnet jellies, jerk chicken seasoning, and sauces. It's hot stuff actually. We stocked up last time and will no doubt do so again.
Lime's Cafe – Owner Jane Key has opened Tettenhall Green's newest cosy cafe (right opposite the Clock Tower) and will be looking after us on the day with hot coffees, teas, and cakes. Have you visited her super cafe yet?
Minh's Chinese – Delighted to report that the village's own Chinese restaurant, Minh's, is joining in for the first time with a range of Oriental treats and special samplers from their High Street restaurant including prawn toast, crispy wontons, and spring rolls.
Masala Club – Completing our Tettenhall trio of 'hot street foodies', and also making their very first appearance at the market, is the magnificent Masala Club Indian Restaurant. We can expect lots of lovely Indian food tasters, such as samosas and pakoras. Restaurant-made and shipped across to market on the day. Note to self: I am going to put on pounds that day, just accept it!
Chocolate Tailor - To prove that last point, no market would be complete without a chocolatier, so Jackie Roberts is joining us with her exceptional hand-made chocolates, truffles, and edible novelty items. These are not ordinary chocolates, that's for sure.
Flossie's Vintage Attic – First time on the market, Flossie's offer handicrafts and vintage homewares, as well as ultra-trendy artistically painted furniture.
Cuddles 'n' Snuggles – Lisa Bona, another Make It or Bake It first timer, is currently hard at work making her delightful signature items such as sock monkeys, not to mention keepsake bears, greetings cards, candles, and jewellery to turn your head!
Sugar 'n' Spice – Our second charity stall, Sugar 'n' Spice, are a local girls activity club, and the youngsters plan to surprise us with a range of home decor crafts, with all the money raised going towards keeping their Claregate club alive and kicking. So do be generous folks!
Jess & Jake – Another local duo coming to our market for the first time, with some interesting offerings such as Scrabble photo frames, wooden plaques, and home knitted dolls.
Beans & Leaves - On Andy Evan's stall you can get all your fresh coffee beans (ground to order of course) as well as speciality loose leaf teas. You are going to need a cup of tea at home after a full market day!
Paul Blakemore Wooden Crafts - This will be Paul's second visit to our market having created quite a stir last time with his very high quality wood-turned clocks, carvings, and keepsakes.
Ramsell Art - A stall of highly original artwork, embracing paintings and prints from a Black Country family of very talented artists.
Sandija's Boutique - Friends Sarah and Emma offer gemstone, wire, and Baltic jewellery and accessories, as well as hand stitched Nordic knitted ware and textiles.
Shop in the Square – Handmade crafts containing sensational samples of work by no less than 30 local designers.
Jacaranda – African wares, including fascinating wirework, hand-made by villagers in Zimbabwe, and offered for sale by Zimport.
Beez Neez Honey – Frank Dooley's honey and honey-related products, candles, waxes, marmalades, and chutneys. Frank is also rumoured to be bringing a live bee display.
Love Lea – Another Make It or Bake It first timer, with papercraft, cards, notebooks, shadowboxes, peg magnets, felt, brooches and hair accessories, home decor, and earrings.
Norman's House – Debbie Norman loves our market and we love her special style of shabby chic, vintage-inspired gifts, more than enough to invite her back again. So we did!
And finally, last but definitely not least...
Bootstrap Artisans – A collective of crafters from in and around Wolverhampton including (this time around) Rachel Frost Pottery, Netherton Foundry, Alistair Bellamy and Sara Lewis glass.
That's all folks! See you at the market.
