Graham's new venture looks set for take off

Ever fancied having an aerial photo of your own home?

Well now you can. What's more – and here's the best bit – you can take the photo yourself!

If you're reading this blog then it's highly likely that you live locally, which means you're a stones throw away from hitching a ride with the 'Tette'null Flyer' Graham Wiley in his jointly owned private A22 Foxbat aircraft.

Newly retired from his day job, Graham is looking to help finance his passion for flying by taking local folks up with him for pleasure jaunts high above Tettenhall and its stunning surrounding countryside such as The Wrekin, Clee Hills, and beyond.

There are some superb sites to see from a perspective you may never have known before, and what's more it won't cost you a small fortune.

Graham's new venture in 'retirement' is is all about operating private flights out of a little known airfield, right next door to Penkridge in South Staffordshire.

"I just want to introduce people to the fun of flying and it's quite possible, indeed likely, that we could fly above a passenger's house for a quick, self-obtained photo," explains Graham, a Tettenhall resident.

All he asks in return is a contribution towards the cost of the flight in the two seater aircraft.

In detail, here's what's on offer:

Flight one – a short hop to Shugborough Hall and back to Otherton Airfield just outside of Penkridge, which takes about 15 minutes for £30.

See the famous Ironbridge and the River Severn from a new perspective

Flight two – includes taking in the spectacular sites of The Wrekin and Ironbridge, a 45 minute trip costing £45.

Flight three – the Full flying Monty if you like. This one hour trip follows the twisting line of the River Severn from Bridgnorth to the Clee Hills and costs £65.

In all cases, Graham also records the flight with a camera fixed on a wing, and a DVD is offered afterwards for an extra £15 per trip.

But for real enthusiasts, there is a very special fourth option.

This involves landing en route at a 'secret' new airfield in Shropshire and viewing a private collector's working Harrier Jump Jet, possibly even firing up the engine and certainly sitting in the cockpit!

If anyone knows where else you can do that in the world, speak now and be counted!

So, a private flight around the local area from as little as £30, sounds almost too good to be true. However, there are some understandable caveats.

Flights are very weather dependent and only possible with clear visibility (of 10 kms, that's just over six miles) and with wind speeds of less than ten miles per hour.

There is only room for Graham (the pilot himself) and one passenger weighing no more than fourteen stone and with a height of less than 6 ft 6 inches, and a minimum age restriction of ten years old (with parental consent) for the passenger.
