Letter: Out of touch over policing

Teresa May is indeed out of touch with the experience of real people.

Published

The concerns of David Jamieson, police and crime commissioner, for the effects of government cuts on access to police station front desks and the ability to fight crime are real enough.

The notion that crime is falling is a joke to those outside the heavily protected Westminster village. Many people fail to report crime because being given a crime number is not the action they want.

For others it is not investigated anyway.

People are left vulnerable at a time when more people are becoming victims and law enforcement bodies like the courts release dangerous criminals back into the community.

I'm sure Teresa May will feel secure in her own bed unlike millions of people around the country who don't.
