Bride and groom Maggie and Stuart, from Perton, met five years ago on an internet dating site, and they pulled out all the stops at The Wroxeter Hotel to make their wedding reception a night to remember.

Adorned in a red and black lace dress as well as braces and corduroys - complete with matching life jackets - the newly married couple performed their first dance to Celine Dion's My Heart Will Go On - the theme tune to James Cameron's epic action packed romantic film, which follows the ill-fated voyage of R.M.S Titanic.

The idea to theme the evening celebrations came from Maggie, a retired IT support assistant, who loves entertaining people. She said: "Weddings can be a bit boring and formal so we thought we would get all that out of the way in the day and then go a bit crazy in the evening."

"I absolutely love the Titanic film and will watch it over and over again. It's so romantic and set in such elegant era that we decided to use it as the inspiration for a themed reception evening."

"We asked all our guests to come dressed 'As you were when the ship went down' and we were thrilled so many people made an effort."

"Stuart and I had such a great time dressing up as Jack and Rose - it really will be an occasion to remember for a very long time to come."

"We are really grateful to all the staff at the hotel who have helped make our dreams come true"

Welcoming guests to the evening reception on June 5 were two life rings with the words 'Welcome Aboard" as well as a display of replica Titanic models.

The new Mr and Mrs Taylor also treated guests to themed table decorations, a vintage sweet trolley and a photobooth.

Staff at The Wroxeter Hotel, near Shrewsbury, are no strangers to helping couples achieve their big ideas for their wedding day. She said: "Themed weddings are becoming more and more popular and we have seen a few over the last couple of years"

"It's always really exciting for us to help with all the special touches and bring couple's interesting ideas to life"

"Maggie and Stuart had a wonderful day as did all their guests. The couple had thought about every little detail and it was fabulous to see everyone dressed up"
