There are some things only a parent can do

But like it or not, it is here to stay, and going to have a major influence on how many of us work, rest and play in years to come.

But how many people thought it would end up changing the way we bring up our children? Well according to tech bosses, that could be the next big thing. From helping to organise parents' diaries, choosing what to cook for dinner, finding activities for half term, or even helping children with their homework, AI can have a role to play.

For many, trying to juggle their increasingly busy lives, this will be a boon, but as with most things, only if used in moderation. As a tool, AI may have its place. But a mobile phone can't become a virtual parent.

A mobile phone can't bathe a grazed knee, or comfort a child when they're sad. There are some things that only a mother or father can do.
