Blue Monday? Things can only get better

Today is what has become known as Blue Monday, supposedly the most miserable day of the year.

With the excitement of Christmas now but a distant memory, the gloomy weather, and maybe the credit card bills a little larger than we would like, it is easy to understand why people may be feeling a little down at the moment. Throw in rising energy costs, war in the Ukraine, and little cheer on the economic front,  and maybe this year it seems bluer than most.

Nevertheless, we would suggest that even on a cold Monday in January, there is still a great deal to be cheerful about. The days are getting longer, spring is just around the corner, and we have a whole new year to look forward to.

We don't really believe in Blue Monday. It is, after all, just another day.

But for those of you who do believe it to be the unhappiest day of the year, we suggest that you try looking at it from a different angle. From this day on, things can only get better.
