'Opportunity for children to hone their cycling skills - Your Letters: March 13
CHANCE TO GET OUT ON BIKE
It was disappointing to read that according to a recent poll just eight per cent of girls see themselves as someone who cycles often, compared with 17 per cent of boys. As the article goes onto say, the result is fewer girls are likely to either start or continue cycling as they grow up. As a nation we should encourage far more girls and boys to cycle.
The good news for children, together with adults living in and nearby to Wolverhampton, is that on Saturday 14 June the cycling hub ‘No Limits to Health’ located next to East Park, is to hold the second edition of its ‘Kidical Mass’ cycle ride from the park to Molineux Stadium and back again.
The ride is aimed at anyone over 10 years of age and will make use of many of the new safe cycling routes within the city. There will be opportunities for children under ten to ride within the park and hone their cycling skills, combined with all sorts of fun attractions.
Everyone who would like to cycle in company with a community of friendly and fun loving people are very welcome. I would urge any parents or family members who would like to their children to take part in this fun cycling event to contact organiser Sam Henry, Bicycle Mayor for Wolverhampton, at No Limits to health.com for further information.
