'Trump: Reshaping national and international politics' - Your Letters: January 21
TRUMP IS GOOD ON THE ECONOMY
Donald Trump is sworn in as US President for a second term, reshaping both national and international politics. He rejects the globalist ideology that has dominated for the past 30 years, prioritizing American interests and addressing China's influence by focusing on domestic production.
Trump's election reflects a desire for an economy that is free from excessive regulation and taxation, one that promotes wealth creation. This stands in contrast to the UK’s current trajectory under the Labour Party, which has seen the exit of 78 millionaires and 12 billionaires since the election. This migration underscores the fallacy of socialism, which often neglects the importance of individual initiative in driving economic growth.
The UK must confront its economic decline, much of which originated from the policies of Tony Blair and was not effectively addressed by David Cameron's administration. Rising taxes and ineffective public services leave the nation vulnerable. The Conservative opposition is urged to present a strong alternative that advocates for free markets and private property. Our choice lies between self-sufficiency and continued dependence on Brussels, with serious consequences if the wrong path is chosen.
