WHY SLY OLD FOX SHOULD STAY PUT
Animal rights group PETA have asked a Birmingham pub to consider changing its name from Sly Old Fox to Clever Old Fox. I agree with these people but only when foxes can prove to us that a pub name 'demonises' them. Or, that a Fox can read the pub's name, out loud in English and give a lecture to the general public about their 'social' visits to hen houses where they are 'forced' to defend themselves against chickens that attack them and they then are 'forced' to fight their way out again through the marauding chickens and are 'forced' to defend themselves by killing all chickens in the hen house.
PETA claim that their critics are getting their knickers in a twist over it. I would respectfully suggest that they are the one's getting their knickers in a twist.
Sorry to give you some sad, shocking news, but both rural and urban foxes are wild animals, they aren't like the sweet little darlings as may be portrayed by people like Disney and other cartoon film producers. Reality is rather different.
