Group of friends celebrating the end of the year, having party on New Years Eve

It is a well documented fact that New Year’s Eve usually comes hard on the heels of Christmas.

We may well have an unlock for five days over Christmas. but who knows? I dare say it will be something cobbled together at the last minute and in fact prior to that we have swapped lockdown for tier three which is 90 per cent the same, but sounds more acceptable.

In any case we are forewarned, that in a similar way as when some families spend out in December and then suffer in January, it seems this year all will suffer in January by being walled up in our houses.

So far, this shambles of a government seems to have forgotten that New Year’s Eve is one of the biggest booziest nights of the year. Try locking down on that! Furthermore, try stopping Burns Night a bit later on and you’ll have thousands of kilt-wearing Scots wielding claymores charging down the motorway heading for Westminster.
