LETTER: I'd rather miss you, than lose you

A reader shares a fitting poem amid the coronavirus outbreak.

Female hands writing on notebook

I would rather miss you forever

then never see you again.

I have since randomly wrote a few honest words in a poem that I thought would be good to share

I would rather miss you for three weeks

And not see you at all

We can always use social media

Skype, message or call.

I would rather miss you for three weeks

And not see you at all

This is hard for all I know

But I don't want your health to befall.

I would rather miss you for three weeks

And not see you at all

I would rather hear your telephone voice

Then for a nurse to give me that call.

I would rather miss you for three weeks

And not see you at all

The call I receive off the hospital

Would make anyone cry and bawl.

I would rather miss you for three weeks

And not see you at all

For the next time I could see you

Could be behind a glass wall.

I would rather miss you for three weeks

And not see you at all

I want to hold you in the future

Not to visit your grave in the fall

I would rather miss you for three weeks

We will get through this together

Remember this is so important

Or it will be forever

I would rather miss you for three weeks

Than to always feel the pain

I would rather miss you for three weeks.

Then never see you hold you or kiss you again.

My words, my thoughts, randomly written but the truth
