LETTER: We have a duty to preserve the planet

A concerned Christian reader calls for action on climate change.

As a Christian I am writing this letter to all of us who are concerned about climate change.

God has put us here as steward of his creation to take care of the planet with him as creator of the universe.

He said he will destroy those who destroy the earth, so although we are careless and negligent to his creation, he is still in charge over all the affairs of men, and will soon come to put it right, to how it was in the beginning before man gave it away to the Devil.

Here is what the good, old fashioned book has to say. The sure word of God as the world today, calls it out of date. The BIBLE. Here is just a taste:

Isaiah 24. 15-7

‘The earth mourneth and fadeth away. The world languisheth and fadeth away, the haughty people of the earth do languish.

'The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants there of; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.

'Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth and they that dwell therein or desolate; therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.

'The new wine mourneth, the vine languisheth all the merry hearted do sigh.’

It will do us well to put the Bible back in our society and practice what He said.

I am a concerned Christian looking forward to the new earth which God will recreate, as it said in Revelation, 21 for those who accept his invitation, and be blessed to enter into the city. Revelation 22:14, and this is our passport.
