LETTER: Forces should fight for UK

I am writing this letter having just left a sitting of the EU Parliament in Strasbourg where the guest speaker was Angela Merkel, the Chancellor of Germany.

Prime Minister Theresa May and German Chancellor Angela Merkel

Mrs Merkel made it very clear she wants a European army.

Her comments were agreed with by President Juncker of the EU Commission.

We have been told over and over by pro-EU voices in our country that talk of an EU army and an emerging EU super-state and army was scaremongering and as Nick Clegg famously said ‘a dangerous fantasy’.

Now the truth is out and it cannot be denied.

The EU is heading fast towards becoming a federal state.

It is patently obvious that there was one side lying in the great debate about EU membership before and after the referendum and that was the remain side.

No British soldier should risk life and limb fighting for the EU flag.

Our armed forces are there to protect the UK and our national interests not the political power games of the emerging EU state.

Don’t listen to the nonsense of the pro-EU fifth columnists in our country. The choice is stark – leave the EU completely or become a region in a new federal state known as the United States of Europe.
