There’s enough women on TV

Oh dear! Sandi Toksvig wants more women on TV. As if we didn't already have enough. The Daily Politics show on BBC is now more like Woman's Hour with Jo Coburn and her pals. I am not a misogynist, but I do object to women dominating almost every programme. And as regards Toksvig, what else will she turn her talents to next? Reading the news? Valuing antiques? Presenting Rudetube?

I dare say that some like her stilted style, and the exposure she gets must help her bank balance. But she isn't really funny, and what I cannot forgive her for is leaving the Radio 4 'News Quiz' allowing the equally unfunny Miles Jupp to take over what was once a good show.

It is all very well saying that women should have equal chances in life, but surely they should also have equal or better talents to men. It was a woman who ruined this country some 30 years ago, and now we have another one doing the same in parliament. I should add that I am a great believer in equality be it LGBT, black, women's or religious rights. But some balance is called for. In my experience, having worked with and for them, women are certainly not the weaker sex!
