Ashamed at mean views
I am ashamed to be British when people keep writing to the Express & Star about cutting our donations to poor countries.

I agree that we should be more careful where the money goes, but to compare what is happening in Syria, Africa, Asia etc, is totally ridiculous. People are actually dying there.
Remember, it is only by luck or God’s will, that you were not born there. If we paid the 0.7 percent individually, it would mean a person earning less than the national average, say £20,000 pa, would pay £140. We have clean water, electricity, free healthcare, etc.
We are millionaires compared to these people.
