Yet another nail in HS2 coffin

Yet another nail in the case for HS2. Earlier this week the Labour Peer, Lord Berkeley said that the entire official budget of the project (£48.7 billion) will be spent on just Phase One of the project.

This will leave no money left to get from Birmingham to Leeds or Crewe. As I have said before, the eventual costs could spiral to £90 billion plus.

And yet there is still no credible business case to go ahead with it.

The country has far more urgent uses for this taxpayers money, including, not spending it in the first place and using it to help pay off some of our national debt!

Foreign aid was in the headlines yet again this week. A change in EU rules, yes, them again, means prostitution and drugs have to be

included in national income calculations.  How does that work? Who pays tax on those two items? This is part of the reason the UK has 'had to' spend an additional £1.2 billion to meet its' 0.7 per cent target, foolishly written into law for some strange, self-serving reason, by

David Cameron. I fear that I shall never understand the strange convoluted mental processes of our political "leaders" concerning the wasting of hard earned taxpayers money!
