Time to sort out parking problem

Longer than 18 months ago, I asked the MPs in the constituency of Bilston to look at the situation of parking time in Bilston to enable locals, visitors, etc, to be able to allocate a parking space.

To date I cannot see the situation has changed.

As I said before I am a very frequent visitor to Bilston, being born there and choose to come back to my roots. I enjoy the market, the humour of the locals. I enjoy seeing my sister at the same time.

Unless I choose to get my car valeted, who do an excellent job, there is no way I can ever park. It is not a busy Friday either, I come different days, but the car park is full, yet town is not busy on certain days.

May I again ask for this to be reviewed and not be taken up by car owners using it to get on to the metro to go to their place of work.

If this is so and has to remain, then set a day rate, place a parking machine and plough the funds into Bilston for the upkeep of it.

I would be willing to purchase a couple of hours parking. Opportunity would be a fine thing.

Also there are quite a few disabled spaces which always half free, perhaps these could be reviewed too, with an option if there are so many let us use for short stay visiting on selecting a ticket from a machine. I know they cost money but the revenue from a machine would pay for it in no time and raise funds for Bilston. Why has Bilston no machine?

If people want the services of the car park and not the services of the shops and market, etc, let it all be fair across the board. If local and on a pension, then they can be issued with a free pass that will, I think, cover it all.

Once again MPs try and sort the situation out. Come on you councillors start looking at funding Bilston on an equal level.
