These incredible cakes have been designed by some of the finest bakers in the world.

Cake artists have spent hours painstakingly recreating scenes from popular films and television shows, delicate models of the Royal Family, and even a huge, life-sized creation of a a mystical polar bear – all to try and win the top prize at a yearly convention.

Described as the world’s greatest cake show, Cake International has returned to Birmingham’s NEC with ground-breaking displays, creative competition entries and some of the most famous cake stars from around the world.

Bakers, amateur or professional, were able to hone their skills with workshops and demonstrations, discover the latest trends and make the most of the large cake shop in the shopping zone. Visitors have been able to view hundreds of competition cakes over three days.

Judging took place yesterday and visitors were able to access central aisles to view the exhibits.

Cake artist Tuba Geckil wowed judges with her impressive life-size creation of Villanelle from BBC drama Killing Eve.

Another impressive baker also brought to life – in sponge and jam – a life-sized version of Iorek the Armoured Bear from Philip Pullman’s His Dark Materials books.

And the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, along with Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte, had also been turned into cake form – dressed in their finest clothes.

Cake International is held at the NEC every year and always draws bakers and cake fans from all over the globe.

The show is running from November 1 until November 3.
