Following the disastrous floods that brought parts of Wednesbury to a halt on Saturday, October 2 - when locals had to contend with discoloured water, road closures, flooded gardens, streets and cars - Wednesbury Parkway park and ride had to close its car park due to flood damage.
And now, an update from Transport for West Midlands has confirmed the service will remain closed for 'several days' meaning customers who regularly rely on the service in their journey to work will have to seek a new route.
The service said the Wednesbury Parkway park and ride car park is currently cut off due to heavy flood damage and debris on the access road outside.
The issue has been stamped with a week-long fix, with one of the reasons being a small number of cars which were left parked on site while arrangements are being made for owners to collect them as soon as it is 'safe' to do so.
Thankfully, the work is under way to reopen at the 'earliest' opportunity, and the public will be updated through its media channels.
A spokesperson for Transport for West Midlands said: "Wednesbury Parkway park and ride is currently cut off due to heavy flood damage and debris on the access road outside.
"This is likely to take several days to clear. There was a small number of cars which were left parked on site and arrangements are being made for owners to collect them as soon as it is safe to do so.
“Work is under way to reopen the car park at the earliest opportunity and keep the public and regular users updated through our social media channels."
