A vehicle was reported to be blocking the line at Broad Street in Birmingham, meaning West Midlands Metro services were not travelling between the Library and Edgbaston stops.
A statement from the metro at 7am said: "Due to a vehicle blocking the tracks on Broad Street, from start of service trams will be operating between Wolverhampton St George's and Library only."
The Metro company announced that the vehicle had been cleared by 7.50am.
