The fault closed the Snow Hill line in both directions from around 2.30pm on Friday.

Rail replacement buses were put in place in the area and rail tickets were accepted on National Express West Midlands buses at points between Birmingham and Stourbridge.

Train services running through the Birmingham Snow Hill line were either cancelled or delayed.
