Trains disrupted after tree blocks line at Stourbridge railway stations

Trains in the West Midlands have been disrupted due to a tree blocking the lines caused by Storm Francis.

The tree is blocking the route between Stourbridge Junction and Stourbridge Town – with all lines blocked.

Passengers were warned that services running to and from the stations – including trains to Birmingham Snow Hill – may be cancelled.

A spokesman for West Midlands Railway said: "We can't run a service between Stourbridge Junction and Stourbridge Town – this is affecting services in both directions.

"Train services running to and from these stations may be cancelled. Disruption is expected to last until around 6pm.

"Replacement road transport has been ordered."

And the Stourbridge Shuttle has been forced to suspend its services due to the fallen tree – with replacement taxis operating from outside ticket offices at Stourbridge Junction and Stourbridge Town.

The disruption in expected to remain until 6pm, chiefs have said.
