Heavy rains brings flooding chaos to Black Country road
Heavy rains in the Black Country brought flooding chaos to a busy junction today.
Drains on the Stewponey, a road next to the junction between the A449 and A458 in Stourton, near Stourbridge, overflowed following heavy showers from a thunderstorm.
The resulting flooding from the rain, which happened around 4pm, caused a massive puddle to appear on the junction and long lines of traffic on both the A449 and A458.
Images and videos on social media show traffic struggling to get through the flooded areas, with several cars getting stuck on the southbound carriageway of the A449.
After around two hours, the flooding subsided, with only a small area of flooding remaining near the Stewponey.
A West Midlands Police car remained at the scene to direct traffic on the A458 around the flooding.
