Driver critically injured after car and bus crash
A man suffered potentially life-threatening injuries after a car crashed into a bus.
The crash happened on Hamstead Road, in Handsworth, near Great Barr, at about 10.55am today.
The driver of the car was taken to Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital in a critical condition.
A West Midlands Police spokesman said:
"The driver of the car is believed to have suffered potentially life-threatening injuries and has been taken to hospital by paramedics.
"The road has been blocked off as officers remain at the scene to find out the circumstances of the collision.
West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman Jamie Arrowsmith added: "On arrival we discovered one patient, a man, who was still inside the car.
He was found to be in a critical condition and ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced life support."
