Southbound M6 to close overnight through Black Country
A five-mile stretch of the M6 through the Black Country will be shut southbound overnight for urgent maintenance work this weekend.
The M6 southbound between Junctions 10 and 7 will be closed from 10pm tomorrow until 5am Sunday.
Delays are expected while the road is closed as a contractor working on behalf of Highways England carries out the work.
Drivers will be diverted along the A454 Wolverhampton Road, A4148 Wolverhampton Street, A4148 Blue Lane West, A4148 Court Way, A4128 Littleton Street West, A4148 Littleton Street East, A4148 Broadway North and A34 Birmingham Road before traffic returns to the motorway at Junction 7.
There will be no right turn from the eastbound A454 Wolverhampton Road onto the southbound A4148 Pleck Road in order to minimise delay, Walsall Council said.
