M6 motorists faced two-hour delays in shed load clean-up
Motorists faced up to two hours of delays after an incident partially blocked the M6.
Up to nine miles of tailbacks formed on the motorway near Stafford this morning.
Queues snaked back from the approach to Junction 14 Stafford north and Stone after a load was shed.
Officers said: "Thank you for your patience and sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you."
Traffic officers were working to reopen the route.
The route was fully reopened by 12.30pm.
Separately there were delays of an hour on the approach to an earlier M6 between J8 for Great Barr and J6 at Spaghetti Junction.
Highways England said the issue was a stranded lorry with officers from Central Motorway Police Group on the scene to support.
Meanwhile there was heavy traffic on Queslett Road in Great Barr.
This is being caused by a lane closure near the Scott Arms traffic lights due to roadworks.
