Electric vehicle charging points coming to Wolverhampton
Electric vehicle charging points are being rolled out across Wolverhampton.
The council is working in partnership with BP Chargemaster to install the points at six locations in the city.
A government fund of £478,000 was awarded to the local authority in March 2017 to help grow the number of electric taxis in the city.
Now, the government’s office for low emission vehicles has confirmed that electric charging networks can be made available for use by the public.
Phase one of the project will see charging points installed on Birch Street, Clifton Street Car Park, Market Street, Park Road West, Princess Street Taxi Rank and Red Hill Street.
They will be installed and open in time for use this summer and once completed, the council will work to identify further sites for more electric charging points.
