Pedestrian hit by car in Netherton

A pedestrian has suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car in Netherton.

Emergency services, including an air ambulance, were called to the scene at around 3pm after the collision.

Police and paramedics are on the scene.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "Police were called to a collision involving a pedestrian and a car at the junction of Baptist End Road and Park Road, Netherton, at 3.10pm.

"A woman in her 40s was taken to hospital."

West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman Jamie Arrowsmith said: "We were called at 3.07pm to the junction of Park Road and Baptist End Road to reports of an RTC involving a car and a pedestrian.

"Two ambulances, a paramedic officer, the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford, the Midlands Air Ambulance critical care car and the West Midlands care team attended the scene.

"One patient is being treated for serious injuries."

The crash happened less than half a mile from a motorcycle and and car crash earlier today.

The rider sustained 'minor injuries' after the collision on the junction for Halesowen Road and Church Road.

Cinder Bank, where the latest collision has happened, merges into Halesowen Road before it meets the junction of Church Road.
