The A4101 High Street in Kingswinford will be closed for resurfacing just as children go back to school and staff return to work after the Christmas and New Year period.

A diversion will be in place via Market Street, Stream Road, Bromley Lane and Standhills Road. Access to frontages will be maintained where safe to do so.

A Dudley Council spokesman said: "It will cause disruption for a short period of time while the works are being carried out, and we apologise for that. But in the long run it will be for the best.”

The road will be closed weekdays between 9.30am and 3.30pm until January 21.
