Watch: Drivers go quackers over unusual road hold-up

Love a duck! Commuters in Shropshire thought they were going quackers when the traffic came to a standstill today.

For their journey was held up by a flock of ducks, waddling up the main road.

The extraordinary sight on the B4555 at Highley near Bridgnorth, was captured on film by Sue Currie from Netherton Foundry in Highley on her way into work this morning.

"It is usually a simple commute into work but this morning the traffic slowed down and we couldn't believe what we saw.

"Up in front of us there were dozens of ducks on the road. They were being herded by a gentleman who was trying desperately to get them off the road."

Mrs Currie who runs the popular Netherton Foundry traditional pan manufacturing business with husband Neil, said thankfully the ducks were successfully herded into a field, unharmed.

"You hear about today's 21st century problems on our road. But here in Shropshire we still have 18th century traffic hold-ups."
