New Birmingham Road to stay shut until Friday after burst pipe
A busy route which was closed last week after a pipe burst will remain closed until Friday.
Water and sewage flooded the A4123 New Birmingham Road in Tividale last Friday, making the route impassable.
It was initially thought that the northbound carriageway, close to the Burnt Tree junction, would remain shut until Tuesday while repairs were made.
But South Staffs Water has confirmed it will not reopen until this Friday.
A spokesperson said: "Reinstatement of the road is still taking place and due to be completed and the road reopen on Friday, August 3."
