A cream-coloured Mini and a black Renault collided near The Dudley Arms pub on Wolverhampton Road in Himley at around midday today.

One man driving the Renault was taking two others to Christmas lunch when the crash took place.

Precautionary checks were made, with the road left shut for longer than 30 minutes.

Both drivers were breathalysed on site but both returned negative results.

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue crews from Wombourne and Dudley attended – with two pump and rescue units sent.

Crew Commander David Owen said: "It was a two-vehicle RTC.

"The one gentleman was taking his family to Christmas lunch and collided with a car on the junction.

"The one car was left un-drivable – there were two occupants in the Mini and three in the Renault."
