Mother and daughter injured after car rolls into ditch on A5 near Weston Park

A mother and daughter were rushed to hospital after the car they were travelling in rolled over twice and landed in a ditch near Weston Park.

The pair, aged 50 and 23, left the road and ended up in a bank on the A5 at the junction of Hatch Lane.

Another car also rolled over and hit a tree.

The daughter suffered neck and back pain while her mother was complaining of back, shoulder, neck and wrist pain.

They were both taken to New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton.

It happened at 4.12pm on Saturday.

Murray MacGregor, a spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "The caller said the incident involved two cars. One had wheels pointing down a steep bank and one had rolled over and hit a tree.

"A 23-year-old patient said the car had rolled twice and then ended up in a ditch. There was significant intrusion to the roof and the car's airbags were deployed. Two patients were immobilised and taken to New Cross Hospital."
