The work is being carried out along John Street in Chadsmoor and is expected to last nine weeks.

Temporary traffic lights have been installed and county council transport bosses are warning drivers there will be some delays.

The road itself from its junction with Cannock Road and Huntington Terrace Road will also be resurfaced at the start of April. At that point it will close to traffic. Diversions will be in place.

Staffordshire County Council is carrying out the scheme, which is due to be finished by April 7. Access will be available to homes and businesses along the street throughout.

Similar resurfacing works will take place in Littlewood Road and Littlewood Lane, Cheslyn Hay, in April, lasting 32 weeks.

And contractors have just finished resurfacing along Hednesford Road and Cannock Road in Cannock, which cost £600,000.
