Christmas getaway delays after six-car crash on M6 Toll

Motorists faced delays on the big Christmas getaway after a crash involving six cars on the M6 Toll.

It happened on the southbound side of the road, at junction 3 for Tamworth/Sutton Coldfield at 2.37pm causing delays this afternoon.

West Midlands Fire Service attended and one woman was cut from her vehicle using specialist cutting equipment.

Around five people were injured in total.

Fire crews from Sutton Coldfield, Erdington and Ward End attended.

Elsewhere, fire crews from Bloxwich and Willenhall attended a crash involving two cars in Jones Road, New Invention at 11.30am today.

A woman travelling in a Seat car was taken to hospital with neck injuries.

Meanwhile, in Stourbridge, crews were called to Norton Road at 3pm after a car hit the kerb and came off the road.

The occupants of the Honda Jazz were given precautionary checks by the ambulance service.

In West Bromwich, crews were called to a car that had crashed into a lamppost at 3.30pm.

The two people travelling in the Toyota people carrier were not seriously injured.
