Roads closed in Wolverhampton after two-car crash

Four people were injured and two roads were closed after a crash in Wolverhampton.

A woman and a child were left with minor injuries and two men were taken to hospital following the two-car collision.

The men were trapped in a vehicle on its side as a result of the accident, which happened on Johnson St, in Wolverhampton, at around 4.24pm yesterday.

Firefighters from Bilston and Fallings Park fire stations had to cut them free from the vehicle, gaining access from the rear, before they were taken to New Cross Hospital.

Officers closed nearby Mason Street and Dudley Road, leading out of the city centre, following the collision.

Dudley Road was reopened for traffic heading towards the city centre at 5.30pm.

The woman and child were treated at the scene and refused further treatment.
