Delays as police escort huge carrier through Staffordshire
Delays were today expected on major routes through Staffordshire as police escort a huge vehicle through the town.

The abnormal load set off at 9.30am before travelling along Lichfield Road, Weston Road, and Beaconside in Stafford before heading northbound on the A34 into Stone.
It will eventually join the M6.
Officers from Staffordshire Police's Road Policing Team were travelling with the huge carrier which is thought to be transporting equipment from engineering giant Alstom.
