Cables near Wednesbury Parkway station sparked at around 5.15am but chiefs cut off the power to perform repairs. West Midlands Fire Service were not called.

As a result, the Midland Metro however had to run a limited service, meaning it could only run from Wolverhampton to Priestfield and also from Dudley Street, Guns Village to Birmingham.

Just two trams were running in each direction by 7.30am this morning.
