Gas leak causes Birmingham New Road rush hour delays
A gas leak was causing delays on a busy main road today.

One lane was closed on Birmingham New Road from Wolverhampton to Dudley.
It caused traffic to build up along the southbound carriageway, as underground work was carried out near to the junction with Spring Road.
Experts from National Grid were called to the road yesterday following reports of a smell of gas.
Investigations are being carried out on two gas mains under the road to establish the cause.
