Busy Stourbridge road to be shut for a month
A busy town centre road will be closed for a month while contractors remove hoardings around a £50 million shopping development.
Bath Road in Stourbridge will be shut while the work takes place ahead of the new Tesco supermarket and Crown Centre opening to the public.
Workers were today beginning to take down the hoardings around the construction site so landscaping could begin. The road will be closed until October 4.
The closure applies to a section of the inner lane of Stourbridge ring road, from the bend on Bath Road, which is the lay-by near Crystal Leisure Centre, to just past the Crown Lane entry onto Bath Road. The other two lanes will remain open.
Councillor Khurshid Ahmed said: "We are now on the final phase of works to completing this multi-million pound redevelopment and I thank everyone for their continued patience during this time."
