There has been huge disruption as the A38 St Chad's and Queensway tunnels, which are used by around 18 million vehicles each year, were closed off during the school holidays.

The tunnels reopened at 6am today.

A further two weeks of overnight closures will now take place to continue improvement works on the 40-year-old structures, while a further six-week closure is also planned for next summer for more upgrades to take place.
