Work is being carried out at the Bradford Place terminus following a review by transport bosses and will also lead to some timetable changes from next week.

The current five stands outside the Saddlers Centre will be cut to four creating more space for buses to pull out and move around.

It comes as the interchange has been dogged by safety concerns after continuing accidents.

Work will be carried out from today until Sunday and services will need to be temporary relocated. The changes are expected to be completed by the start of the week. Passengers are advised to look out for alterations to where buses stop.

The current stands of Q, R, S and T will have the same lettering as before but without stand U.

Centro spokesman Peter Cameron said: "The increased space will reduce the need for buses to reverse making Bradford Place safer."
