300 potholes a week filled in across Staffordshire

More than 300 Staffordshire potholes are being repaired weekly to catch up with a backlog caused by the recent cold snap.

Staffordshire County Council has invested a further £500,000 into improving roads hit by the weather. Before the Easter weekend crews repaired more than 60 potholes in one day.

Roads tackled include Wolverhampton Road, Cannock; Rugeley Road, Burntwood; Lower Penkridge Road, Acton Trussell and Westway, Stafford.

More than 4,000 potholes were reported, compared to about 2,800 at this time in 2012.
