Fitbit releases new health tracker – but you won’t be able to buy it
New Fitbit Inspire will only be available to corporate employees and health insurance members.
Health tracker company Fitbit has released a new wearable that will only be available exclusively to corporate employees and health insurance members.
Fitbit Inspire features all of the standard fitness tracker options, including activity and sleep tracking, a counter of calories burned, and reminders of when to do physical activities.
A more advanced version, known as Fitbit Inspire HR, has also been unveiled, with added heart-rate tracking and sleep stages.
However, the firm is not releasing the wearable device to the public, instead making it available through its Fitbit Health Solutions partners, who want to offer their employees a way to monitor their health.
Fitbit is under increased pressure in the fitness wearable sector, with competition from the Apple Watch, which features ECG (electrocardiogram) reading technology that can alert the wearer to an irregular heart rhythm.
