Apple adds cream cheese to its plain bagel emoji following outcry

Apple has spread some joy for bagel lovers by adding cream cheese to its new bagel emoji.
More than 1,000 people signed a petition set up by cream cheese brand Philadelphia when the dry bagel emoji emerged on an iOS 12 beta update earlier this month.
A new-look emoji, not only featuring a cream cheese filling but also a doughier consistency, has now been spotted on the fourth beta release of iOS 12.1.
“Hooray! Bagel lovers everywhere united and convinced @Apple to turn the plain #SadBagel into a delicious #HappyBagel and we are celebrating,” Philadelphia tweeted.
Google has previously been ordered to go back to the kitchen with its burger emoji, after people realised that the cheese was placed below the patty.
Sundar Pichai, Google’s chief executive, waded into the issue and ensured that the cheese slice was rightfully placed above the main filling.
